Sauce & Liquid Filling Line: Filling Machine Selection Guide

Choosing the right sauce and liquid filling machine depends on the viscosity, particle size, flowability, filling volume, temperature and packaging requirements of the product.

GZFHARVEST sauce and liquid filling solutions can be configured with magnetic pump filling, gear pump filling, vertical piston filling, horizontal piston filling and rotor pump filling. Additional functions such as mixing, heating, diving filling and CIP cleaning can be integrated according to the product characteristics.

Rotor pump fillers are suitable for very thick sauces or sauces with large particles, servo piston fillers are suitable for thick and medium-viscosity sauces requiring accurate filling, gear pump fillers are suitable for smooth and free-flowing liquids, while magnetic pump fillers are suitable for thin, water-like liquids and beverages.

Sauce & Liquid Filling Machine Types

1.Magnetic Pump Filling Machine

Working principle:Magnetic pump + flow control

The material enters the magnetic pump from the hopper and is driven by magnetic force, ensuring no contact between the material and the motor shaft. The liquid is pumped out through the filling nozzle, with the fill volume controlled by a servo system; the nozzle stops operating once the target capacity is reached.

Suitable for: Thin, low-viscosity liquids such as water, juice and beverages, soy sauce and vinegar, milk, beverages, mineral water, liquid medicines, edible oils, and chemical products.

This machine is good to fill thin, low-viscosity liquids with small capacity, the filling speed a little lower product .If can also follow the speed requirement to adjust how many filling head needed .

2.Gear Pump Filling Machine

Gear pump filling machine working principle :Gear rotation + precise liquid filling

Material enters the magnetic pump from the hopper; the pump utilizes servo-controlled precision metering and a magnetic drive for the gears, ensuring the material does not come into contact with the motor shaft. The liquid is dispensed through the filling nozzle—with the fill volume regulated by the servo system—and the nozzle stops operating once the target capacity is reached.

Suitable for: Free-flowing liquids such as oil, syrup, juice and other particle-free liquids.

Both gear pumps and magnetic drive pumps are used to fill liquids with good flow characteristics,no solid particles; however, magnetic drive pumps are suitable for small-volume filling at relatively slow speeds, whereas gear pumps handle both small and large volumes at higher speeds. Gear pumps have a more complex structure than magnetic drive pumps, resulting in higher costs.

3.Vertical Piston Filling Machine

Vertical Piston Filling Machine working principle:Piston movement + measured volume

The piston moves backward to draw the product into the cylinder.,the inlet valve closes after the cylinder is filled, the piston moves forward to push the product out,The product is discharged through the filling nozzle, piston stroke controls the filling volume.

Suitable for: Medium-viscosity liquids and sauces with relatively small particles.

Suitable for product :Syrups,Creamy liquids,Dressings,Medium-viscosity food products,honey,jam,tomato pastes,butter

4.Horizontal Piston Filling Machine

Horizontal Piston Filling Machine working principle :Horizontal piston movement + volumetric filling

The horizontal piston draws the product into the cylinder and pushes it horizontally toward the filling nozzle. The piston stroke determines the filling volume.

Typical products:Tomato sauce,Chili sauce,Hot sauce,Fruit sauce,Chunky sauce,Peanut butter,Chocolate sauce,Thick food paste,Mayonnaise,bean sauce,ketchup sauce,tomato sauces,bean paste,salad dressing,chutney,honey,ghee,jam

5.Rotor Pump Filling Machine

Working principle :Rotary rotor + continuous product transfer

The product enters the rotor pump chamber, rotating rotors create cavities that capture and transfer the product, the product is gently pushed toward the filling nozzle, the filling volume is controlled by rotor speed, rotation or filling time, the process repeats continuously for stable filling.

Suitable for: High-viscosity products and products with large particles, such as peanut butter, thick sauces, fruit fillings and chunky sauces.

Typical Applications :

Additional Functions for Sauce & Liquid Filling

The filling machine can be customized with additional functions according to the characteristics of the product.

Mixing Filling

Recommended for products containing particles or products that are easy to settle.

A mixing system keeps the product more evenly distributed during filling.

Typical applications:Sauces with particles,Seasonings

· Fruit sauces

· Products containing suspended solids

Heated / Warm Filling

For products that require a specific filling temperature, a heating and temperature-holding system can be integrated.

Typical applications:

· Chocolate sauce

· Peanut butter

· High-viscosity sauces

· Products that become difficult to flow at lower temperatures

The heating system helps maintain the required product temperature and improves filling stability.

Diving Filling

Diving filling means the filling nozzle moves down into the container during filling and gradually rises as the product level increases.

Recommended for: Products that tend to generate foam during filling.

Typical applications:

· Coffee drinks

· Milk

· Foaming beverages

· Other foam-sensitive liquids

Diving filling can help reduce splashing and foam formation during the filling process.

CIP Cleaning

A CIP system can be used for automatic cleaning of the filling pipeline and product-contact components.

However, CIP cleaning should be connected to the customer's existing CIP system.

If the customer's production facility does not have a suitable CIP system, an independent CIP configuration may not be necessary.

A simpler removable product-contact design may be more practical.

Effect Filling Accuracy Factors

Actual filling accuracy is affected by several factors and cannot be determined by the filling machine alone.

Important factors include:

Product viscosity

Product particle size

Product density

Product temperature

Filling method

Filling speed

Filling volume

Container opening size

Nozzle diameter

Product flowability

Therefore, filling accuracy should be evaluated based on the actual product and filling conditions.

Complete Sauce & Liquid Filling Line

A complete production line can be configured according to the customer's container and packaging requirements.

Bottle Filling Line

Bottle Unscrambler → Bottle Cleaning → Filling Machine → Screw Capping Machine → Induction Sealing Machine → Labeling Machine → Date Coding Machine → Bottle Collector

This configuration is suitable for sauces, beverages, oils, syrups and other bottled products.

Can Filling Line

Can Unscrambler → Can Cleaning → Filling Machine → Can Seaming Machine → Press-on Dust Cap → Date Coding Machine → Labeling Machine → Can Collector

For products packed in cans, an automatic can seaming machine can be installed after filling.

A press-on dust cap can also be added when additional protection is required.

Customized Sauce & Liquid Filling Solutions

There is no universal filling machine for every sauce or liquid product.

The recommended filling technology should be determined according to:

Product Viscosity + Particle Size + Flowability + Filling Volume + Temperature + Container Type + Required Speed + Filling Accuracy

Whether you are filling water, juice, oil, syrup, tomato sauce, chili sauce, peanut butter, fruit sauce or other liquid and semi-liquid products, the filling system can be configured according to the actual application.

A complete solution can integrate filling, mixing, heating, diving filling, CIP, capping, can seaming, induction sealing, labeling, coding and product collection into one automatic packaging line.
